E11 vs E12 — Engines and Chassis
The E11 Note (2005–2012) uses the HR15DE (1.5L) and HR16DE (1.6L) engines with a conventional automatic or CVT. The E12 Note (2012–2020) switched to the smaller HR12DE (1.2L) and the supercharged HR12DDR (1.2L), and later added e-POWER hybrid versions (HE12). The two generations do not share engines or most drivetrain parts.

What Does Not Cross-Fit
Because they are different generations, E11 and E12 body panels, lights, bumpers, engines and gearboxes do not interchange. A few service items may overlap, but treat the two as separate cars for parts. Buying an E11 part for an E12 (or the reverse) is the most common Note ordering mistake.

Ordering Note Parts the Right Way
Confirm your chassis code first — E11 or E12 (or HE12 for e-POWER). Add the engine size and the part name. For body and lighting parts, send a photo. This prevents the common mistake of mixing the two generations.
